According to Beach Police Chief J.R. Talamantez, the ordinance which closed the sandy beach from Boardwalk Beach Resort to Long Beach Resort from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. expired on Sunday. The ruling went into effect following a City Council meeting on June 9, and was designed to prevent large, late-night gatherings in the area, which officers have struggled to control in the past.
