- Find your reservation in ‘My Trips’ at delta.com or in the Delta app
- Request a Delta Comfort+ upgrade and check the ‘Upgrade Preferences’ box
- Then, check both boxes for ‘Request upgrade’ and ‘Only upgrade if my Seat Preferences are available’
- Select your preference: aisle, middle or window (you can select multiple)

Can you upgrade Delta ticket after purchase?
Can I upgrade my Delta flight after purchase? Yes, you can upgrade your Delta ticket using either cash or miles up until three hours before time of departure. Upgrades are subject to seat availability.
How do I upgrade my Delta flight?
You can use miles to upgrade to Delta One®, Delta Premium Select, First Class or Delta Comfort+® for eligible flights within the U.S.50 while purchasing a ticket* either at delta.com or with Delta Reservations. If your reservation is eligible for an upgrade, you’ll see the option to upgrade in your Trip Summary.
How do you get free first class on Delta?
Make a reservation with Delta and provide your medallion status Skymiles number. Delta will automatically upgrade your ticket to first class for free if a seat is available. Silver, gold, platinum and diamond medallion members are given progressively higher seating priority.
Can I upgrade from basic economy to main cabin Delta?
Low Fare with Restrictions. Save with Basic Economy, but please remember refunds and upgrades are not available at any time. Basic Economy is best for those traveling by themselves with firm travel plans.
Is Delta upgrade to Main Cabin worth it?
Delta allows free changes on main cabin tickets of the same value but does not allow any changes on basic economy. So if you have to change your ticket for any reason, you’ll end up eating the entire cost of a basic economy fare. For this reason alone, main cabin fares are better for anyone seeking flexibility.
