Benefits of Neoprene Seat Covers –

Durable. Neoprene seat covers are almost as durable as leather seat covers, The covers are designed to resist wear and tear, stains, mildew, and other material-spoiling factors. Furthermore, they prolong the life of your car seats, so you don’t have to worry about replacing your car seats or covers for a long time. Heat-resistant. If you leave your vehicle in the sun, the heat accumulates inside your car and your seats become too hot to sit on. Neoprene seat covers don’t necessarily cool the seats in such situations, but they repel most of the heat from the sun and prevent your seats from attaining an unbearably hot temperature. Also, neoprene is a flame-protected material. Water-resistant, Neoprene covers are naturally water-resistant as they are made from the same material as wetsuits. The covers are ideal for family cars with children who may spill drinks or people who sweat a lot in their car. The covers prevent moisture from penetrating into the car seats and give you ample time to wipe it off. Aesthetics. Neoprene covers have an elegant and timeless look that will improve the interior design of your car. They also come in a variety of colors, and you could choose one that complements the existing upholstery in your vehicle. Neoprene covers are also the best for breathing life into old and worn-out car seats. Protection. Neoprene covers protect your car seats from degradation in which the car seat fabric tears or wears out and the metal framework underneath is exposed. In addition, if you spend most of your time in your vehicle, chances are that you may spill your drinks or food. Neoprene covers act as a defensive line against spills that may stain your car seats and cause a bad odor.

Do you sweat in neoprene seat covers?

Seat covers are made from many different materials such as sheepskin, canvas, and neoprene. Neoprene seat covers are made of synthetic rubber and have numerous advantages over the other materials. These advantages include durability, comfort, and resistance to heat and moisture.

This article will discuss the advantages of neoprene seat covers. Heat If you’ve ever left your car in the sun, you know how hot the seats can get. Neoprene seat covers don’t heat up so much in direct sunlight. They simply get a little warm, but not hot enough to burn your legs. Moisture From time to time you have probably spilled something on your car seats.

These spills can easily stain your seats. Neoprene seat covers are made from the same material that is used to make wet suits. They keep spills and moisture from damaging your seats. Any water that is spilled on them will be captured in the neoprene and will evaporate into the air.

  • Comfort Another advantage of neoprene seat covers is comfort.
  • They are soft and have a lot of cushioning.
  • This extra padding allows you to sit comfortably during long trips.
  • Neoprene seat covers also don’t make you sweat unlike other materials.
  • Non-flammable Neoprene seat covers are also non-flammable.
  • If you routinely smoke in your car, you may have dropped ashes or a lit cigarette onto the seat.

  • Supertrim has been producing neoprene seat covers since 2002.
  • During that time we have sold many thousands of covers and the percentage of covers that have worn out or had problems in that time is less than 1%.
  • They don’t only resist heat and water.
  • Neoprene seat covers also provide excellent protection against friction.

Your seats will wear down over time due to friction caused by a car seat cover rubbing across a seat as you get in and out of the car. Neoprene seats covers have a textured back that grips the underlying seat like they were glued into position, which prevents rubbing and subsequent damage to your car seats.

Do neoprene seat covers smell?

Do Neoprene Seat Covers Smell? – They shouldn’t! A good quality neoprene shouldn’t have any more than a faint rubber smell, but once they’re installed even that will go away pretty quickly. Some cheap blends might have a chemical smell to them, but that’s not a worry if you’re sourcing your neoprene seat covers from a reputable brand like Coverking, Wet Okole, Saddleman, or Caltrend.

However if used hard and left unwashed overtime they can absolutely develop some unwanted smells. Neoprene is still a fabric afterall, so if you, your friends, and the dog all hop in your car wet after a dip in the ocean, you might find yourself with some unpleasant scents after a few days. That’s not a problem, though! Some shampoo and clean water can bring them right back to new.

Avoid the washer/dryer, though, that can ruin the covers.

What is the difference between neoprene and Neosupreme?

Joined Oct 28, 2011 · 3 Posts Discussion Starter · #1 · Oct 29, 2011 I just bought an 06 RTL this past week, and I quickly need to cover the seats while they still look good (kids, water, dirt, food/drink spills, etc.). I’ve read lots of threads about seat covers, but I’m totally confused about the best product to order.

  • I think I’ve decided on some form of neoprene cover, but I’ve come across different ads and prices for Coverking’s “neoprene” and “neosupreme” seat covers.
  • I assume these are different products? I don’t even see the “neosupreme” product on Coverking’s website, but have found it at CARiD and other sites.

Has anyone added seat covers and what kind? Joined Oct 28, 2011 · 3 Posts Discussion Starter · #3 · Nov 1, 2011 From Coverking’s customer support response to my question: “The ‘Neoprene’ have a foam backing, rubber layer and nylon material on the outside. This would make the seat covers highly water resistant.

The ‘Neosupreme’ has only the foam backing and nylon layer, which means they look like the Neoprene but are not water resistant (no rubber layer). Hence, the difference in price as well.” I’m seeing the Neoprene for prices ~ $200/row and the Neosupreme for prices ~ $150/row.
