The Tarraco is closely related to the Skoda Kodiaq, but the SEAT edges the Skoda in terms of styling and driver appeal, although it can’t match its Czech mate when it comes to practicality and flexibility.

What is the difference between seat Ateca and Tarraco?

SEAT Tarraco large SUV – The SEAT Tarraco completes our range of sport utility vehicles. Fans of SEAT chose the name Tarraco, after hundreds of potential names were submitted and voted on in the #SEATseekingName challenge that SEAT put to its fans. The Tarraco is one segment above the Ateca and can seat up to seven passengers, adding utility features of an MPV to SEAT’s latest release.

  1. The name Tarraco came from a shortlist of four potential names, beating Avila, Aranda, and Alboran.
  2. A total of 146,124 people voted from 134 countries for the name Tarraco, which comes from the ancient Roman name for the Catalan city of Tarragona.
  3. The release of the Tarraco completes the biggest product offensive in the carmaker’s history, after three brand new models were released as well as facelifts to the iconic Ibiza city car and Leon hatchback since 2016.

Is SEAT Tarraco 4 wheel drive?

Performance and Economy – The SEAT Tarraco is available with a choice of two engines – one petrol and one diesel. The 150hp 1.5-litre petrol is a cracking option – depending on what kind of driving you do. It’s quiet, smooth and quick enough once you’re under way, aided by a slick-to-use six-speed manual gearbox.

  1. It gets from 0-62mph in 9.9 seconds and returns fuel economy of 39mpg.
  2. If you’ll do lots of long journeys or will often have the car fully loaded, the diesel will be a better option.
  3. The 150hp 2.0-litre model is a brilliant all-rounder that returns fuel economy of 50mpg and gets from 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds.

On the motorway, it feels punchier than the petrol models, plus you can have it with four-wheel-drive and SEAT’s smooth shifting seven-speed automatic gearbox.

Where are seat tarraco cars made?

Where is the Seat Tarraco built? – Although the Seat Tarraco was designed and developed at the brand’s headquarters in Martorell, Spain, it’s actually built in Germany at parent Group VW’s vast Wolfsburg plant. It’s assembled alongside the mechanically identical Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.

Does seat tarraco have reverse camera?

How much space is there? – Passengers in the first two rows of the SEAT Tarraco won’t be complaining. Up front, adjustment in the seats is generous, and with plenty of leg and headroom available, it’s all very comfortable. It’s a similar story in the middle row, with space for three adults across the bench – although it’s worth pointing out there aren’t three individual seats.

Getting into the third row is a bit of a faff. While the seats tilt and slide forwards to get in, they don’t go quite far enough forwards, and there isn’t an awful lot of room when you get there – mainly because there’s not much space for your feet. If you’re any taller than a small child, the middle row will need to remain slid forwards. Storage cubbies throughout are plentiful though, with a flexible area for bottles and cups in the centre console, large doorbins throughout and a big glovebox. The Tarraco is basically the same size as the Tiguan Allspace and Kodiaq, It’s not huge, and doesn’t feel it on the move so it’s reassuringly easy to manoeuvre and see out of.
